Content and Rights Policy
Last updated: 2026-09-17
This policy explains how rights are handled for the photos and videos you take with the Service, profile photos, and designs in the app such as frames.
1. Rights in photos and videos
- Rights (including copyright) in the photos and videos you take belong to you, the user who took them. Rights in your profile photo also stay with you (or with its original rights holder).
- We never take over the rights in your photos or videos.
2. Between people who shoot together
- A strip puts the photo taken by your phone next to the photo taken by the other person’s phone.
- By shooting together, users allow each other to save those photos and videos on their own device and in their own account, and to use them for personal enjoyment (section 5 of the Terms of Service).
- To use them beyond personal enjoyment (for example selling them, or using them in advertising or merchandise), get the consent of the person who took them and of everyone in them.
3. Rights of the people in the photos (portrait rights and privacy)
- Your photos and videos show other people as well as you. Before posting them on social media or elsewhere, get the consent of everyone in them.
- If someone who was not taking part appears in a photo, be considerate: do not post it, or make sure they cannot be identified.
- Your profile photo is shown to the people you shoot with. Do not use other people’s faces or images you have no right to use.
4. How we handle your photos and videos
We handle your photos, videos and profile photo only as far as needed to run the Service, as listed below. You allow us to handle them within this scope, free of charge.
- storing them on our servers (backup)
- creating and storing thumbnails, and displaying them in the app
- restoring them when you change phones or reinstall the app
- deleting them when you delete them or delete your account
- showing your profile photo to the people you shoot with
- acting under the law or our terms (for example reviewing and deleting content after a report of a violation, or dealing with the authorities)
5. What we do not do
- We do not publish the photos and videos stored in your account, or show them to other users (apart from showing your profile photo to the people you shoot with).
- We do not use your photos or videos for advertising, promotion or AI training.
- We do not use your photos or videos beyond the scope described in 4.
6. Rights in frames, characters and designs
- Rights in the designs in the app, such as frames (including limited-time collaboration frames), backgrounds, characters and stickers, belong to us or to the companies that license them to us.
- You may use these designs only as part of photos taken in the app, for personal enjoyment.
- You may not cut designs out of photos, extract them for use in other images or goods, sell them, or use them commercially in any other way.
- Limited-time frames may stop being offered when a campaign ends. Photos you have already taken stay as they are.
7. If you think your rights are being infringed
If you believe your copyright, portrait rights or other rights are being infringed, contact us following the Copyright and Other Rights Claims procedure. We will review it and, where needed, remove the content or stop it from being shown.
8. Changes
If we change this policy we will announce it in the app or on this page.
